Care guide
Follow these care guidelines to preserve the natural character, finish and longevity of your bevl piece.
Carrara Marble
Carrara marble is a natural stone with individual veining, tonal variation and markings. It is porous and sensitive to acidic liquids, so it should be treated with care.
Day-to-day cleaning:
• Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water, then dry thoroughly.
• Blot spills immediately, particularly wine, coffee, oil and strongly coloured liquids.
• For deeper cleaning, use only a pH-neutral product suitable for marble.
• Use coasters, placemats and protective pads where possible.
Do not:
• Use vinegar, lemon, bleach, limescale remover or abrasive cleaners.
• Leave wet glasses, oils or coloured liquids sitting on the surface.
• Place hot items directly onto the marble.
• Drag heavy, sharp or rough objects across the surface.
Sealing can help reduce staining, but it will not prevent acidic substances from etching the marble.
Oiled wood
An oiled finish protects the timber while preserving its natural grain and texture. As the oil gradually wears through use, occasional maintenance may be required.
Day-to-day cleaning:
• Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately.
• Blot water, wine, oil and other spills as quickly as possible.
• For regular cleaning, use a product suitable for oiled timber, such as Osmo Wash and Care, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Occasional maintenance:
• If the surface begins to look dry or dull, refresh it with a suitable maintenance product such as Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner.
• Always test products on an inconspicuous area first.
Do not:
• Leave liquids or damp objects sitting on the surface.
• Use bleach, antibacterial sprays, multipurpose cleaners, abrasive products or furniture polish.
• Place hot items directly onto the timber.
• Position the piece beside strong heat sources or in prolonged direct sunlight.
